R-1234yf or HFO-1234yf is a hydrofluoroolefin (HFO) refrigerant that replaces R-134a in automotive air conditioning systems. It has a near-zero ozone depletion potential (ODP) and a much lower global warming potential (GWP) than R-134a, making it more environmentally friendly.<\/p>

Features and Benefits
Very Low GWP: R-1234yf’s GWP is approximately 4-7, while R-134a’s is approximately 1,430, meeting increasingly stringent environmental regulations in many countries.
Environmentally Friendly: No ozone depletion (ODP = 0).
Efficiency similar to R-134a: Can be used in air conditioning systems designed for R-134a with minimal modifications.
Safety: R-1234yf is mildly flammable and classified as an A2L safety standard.<\/p>

Applications
Currently, R-1234yf is used as a standard refrigerant in new automobiles manufactured in the United States and Europe to comply with environmental regulations, particularly the European Union’s Mobile Air Conditioning Directive (MAC Directive).<\/p>
